Need a prescription?

How to get a prescription

If you think you may need a prescription medicine, please make a telephone appointment with the doctor.

If you have previously been given a prescription for a straightforward condition, such as hay fever, we can usually issue a prescription after recieving your written request; please ask  reception for more detail.

Your local pharmacist should also be able to give you advice for non-prescription medications and some illnesses.

Repeat prescriptions

You can only get your medication put on repeat by the Doctor. Staff are not able to add or alter medication to your repeat list.

We will re-generate your repeat prescription within two working days from the date you request it. We collect repeat prescriptions at 09.00 every morning from the mail box at reception.

We can also help you to arrange a ‘dosset’ box with local chemists, who may also deliver your medication to your home.

Re-ordering prescriptions

When re-ordering your medication please tick all the items that you want on the list of medication attached to your prescription.

We do not take telephone requests for repeat medication, unless you are a housebound patient.

or fax your repeat order to us on – 0208 8962908.

or email it to admin.actonhealthcentre@nhs.net
